Can vitamin C cause breakouts?

So Ive been trying to incorporate vitamin C into my skincare routine for a while, but I feel like it keeps making me break out. Is this normal? And should I keep trying? I don't use it every day, I've reduced it to once every other night, but I'm not sure if it's a possible cause of breakout.

omg i used this previously and it caused my face to become so red after reach use. i haven't tried any other vitamin c serums since, so i'm not sure if its this product alone or just vitamin c serums in general

Samee! I got huge red patches on my skin the first time I used it. Then I stopped for a while, and now when I do use it, I mix one drop with my moisturiser.

What's the concentration of vitamin C in this serum? If it's higher than 10% and it's your first time using a vitamin C product, it's possible that it's causing you the breakout.

pure vitamin c is very strong and can cause more harm than good. maybe try 5% and then work your way up to 8%-10% after a month or so

it depends on the concentration, and perhaps test not using it for a week or two to see if it is the root cause.
