Stinging sensation

Last 2022, I have been reviewing so many products.. and one thing I noticed is how many breakouts became so frequent and my skin is feeling some stinging sensation when I apply sunscreen. It’s very rare that I experience using sunscreen without any stinging sensation. What do you think is caused by this please? Help.

I think of the reasons for the stinging sensation is because you try a lot of new and different products which are comprising your skin barrier. First I would go back to a basic routine and use a sunscreen where you know that it won't cause a problem. Second I would look into the ingredient lists of the sunscreens that you're using and looking for a mutual ingredient. If you can't find anything and it's getting worse I would consult a derm and maybe do an allergy test

hello Wonda, you didn’t give many details so here is my method when reviewing products. Hope this helps: 1. I check for the ingredients and leave all unnecessary products out. ( cleanser, review serum and spf/ moisturizer stay ) 2. if the new product has perfume, I use only fragrance free products with it - don’t mix perfumes as that can give you more sensitivity 3. Many SPF cause stinging for me because I have sensitive skin, k beauty SPFs are more friendly with my skin and many are fragrance free. 4. Stinging is not always a broken barrier skin; many chemical sunscreens have ingredients that are simply not ok. Try SPF baby/children products; they often don’t contain the harmful ingredients and some even advertise ok to use on the eyes - like the liposome SPF from Cetaphil good luck finding a solution for your skin

Are you using chemical or mineral sunscreens? I’ve found that when my skin barrier is comprised I can’t use chemical sunscreens because they sting my skin. Mineral sunscreens, though, are much gentler and can be used!
