OK this needs to be said cause I've see too many people do it.Not washing hands before applying skincare or just touching skin with dirty hands. Washing hands before applying skincare solves a lot of problems.
Don't think that the cleanser is going to clean your hands and your face for you. 
It's like putting mud and soap mixed together on clean clothes. It's still dirty.

Hello 👋🏾beautiful people,
We know the benefits of exfoliating the skin it improves the skin tone as a result of new skin underneath being revealed but and that's a big BUT exfoliation works so well because it strips away part of the stratum corneum, your skin’s topmost layer. Too much of that is never good. 

🌻The stratum corneum is basically dead skin cells, but it still serves an extremely vital function: preventing water from escaping from the skin. Without the barrier of the stratum corneum,water from our skin would evaporate within a matter of hours leaving the  skin dry and vulnerable.

🌼The problem with exfoliation is that much of the skin’s antioxidants and vitamins, particularly vitamins C and E, are  in the stratum corneum. Stripping them away means your skin is essentially robbed of some of its supplies. As a result, your skin will be out of balance until it can be naturally replenished. The more you peel, the less time you give your skin to rebuild its defenses.

🌲This is not to say that exfoliation is the bad guy. It's more along the lines of not over exfoliating rather exfoliating with care and making sure to restore the vitamins you have stripped of your skin.
Personally I exfoliate my skin 2 to 3 times a week(I have Combination skin) depending on how my skin feels. After exfoliating I use a cucumber gel which has Sodium Hyaluronate (salt form of Hyaluronic acid),Panthenol(Pro-Vitamin B5) and cucumber extract in it to hydrate my skin. 

🍂I also make sure that in the mornings I use vitamin C(which stimulates collagen).
Ingredients to look out for that can help are Cica/Centella Asiatica, Hyaluronic acid/Sodium Hyaluronate,Panthenol,Bisabolol (another favourite of mine)

Hydrate your skin after Exfoliating

Fairy Dusting/Angel Dusting is described as a misleading marketing practice where brands add  a small amount of an ingredient(usually rare or an active)to a product and market it on the product packaging. 

The problem with this is that consumers/costumers are misled into thinking that the product would work for them when really it will yield no results at all. 

The reason why I'm making this post is because I've seen a few skin care products making certain claims but when you check the ingredient list its nearly the last ingredient on the list.
So please check the ingredient list when buying a skincare product.

Hi everyone,today's topic will be AHA's(Alpha Hydroxy Acids).
What they are and the purpose of these acids in skincare. 

🌱Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHA'S) are a type of chemical exfoliant that helps loosen the bonds that hold the skin cells together thus exfoliating the skin. They are usually derived from plants.

There are different types of AHA'S in skincare:
Glycolic
Lactic
Malic
Tartaric
Mandelic 
 Citric. 

🪴Not all AHAs have the same exfoliating effect. The amount of exfoliation is determined by the type of AHA you use.Each AHA has unique benefits because of its molecular weight which determines how penetrative it can be.

🌲Glycolic has the lowest molecular weight out of all of them which means it is more penetrative whereas Citric acid has the highest molecular weight making it the least penetrative.

🌳Lactic acid has additional benefits of boosting hydration on the skin, which results in plumper skin. That's why there's a lot of products with Glycolic acid and products with a combination of Lactic acid and some other AHA. 

What are the benefits of using AHA'S ?
🌴They exfoliate the skin
Exfoliation is a process where the skin cells on the surface shed off. This helps remove dead skin cells but also makes way for new skin cell generation.

🌵They help stimulate collagen production by destroying old collagen fibers to give way for new ones to form

🌾They help with discoloration(darkspots) 
By exfoliating the surface of the skin this encourages cell turnover and the new skin that is revealed is much brighter and evenly pigmented  

🌿Side effects of AHA's on the skin.
Because of the way they penetrate the skin, alpha hydroxy acids can sometime cause irritate the skin and cause stinging and burning. It all depends on how sensitive your skin is. Another common side effect of alpha-hydroxy acids is photosensitivity. 
When you exfoliate with acids, your skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight and more prone to sunburn.This can be prevented by wearing SPF regularly.

Today's topic is SPF Ratings.
SPF also known as 'Sun Protection Factor' the SPF number indicates how much longer than usual you can stay in the sun without getting sunburned. 

For example, if you can stay in the sun unprotected for twenty minutes before your skin begins to burn, SPF 30 allows you to remain in the sun for thirty times longer, or ten hours, without burning. 

This should not give anyone an excuse to not reapply their sunscreen because sunscreen degrades on sunlight so they become lee effective over time that's why its important to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours. 

When buying a sunscreen make to sure to look for a broad spectrum sunscreen that has a label stating that it  protects against UVA and UVB rays  because SPF only means it protects against UVB rays.

SPF Ratings and what they mean

While I liked the product I noticed that it gave me dark eyes. It says to&quot; Avoid  contact with eyes&quot; on the box. Immediately I made sure it had no contact with my eyes the darkening around my eyes stopped. 
I watched YouTube reviews of this product and many people had this problem.

Also try to use this product at night because it has retinol and can cause skin sensitivity. 
Don&#39;t forget to wear sunscreen in the morning.

OK so it does what it promises. It helps fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation. On the box it says in their study 97% of women saw improvement in their hyperpigmentation (dark spots) 
And in 4 weeks 100% of the women in their study saw improvement with their hyperpigmentation .

I&#39;ve been using this for two weeks, five days of the week and  I&#39;ve seen some improvements .
Discoloration on my skin has lightened up significantly. Some dark spots on my cheek that I thought would take ages go has  lightened up as well. It has Retinol, Niacinimide and Ascorbyl glucoside which helps with brightening so the science proves it all.

I&#39;ve been using this product for 2+ years and I&#39;ve not had any issues with it

I use this mask as a pick me up whenever I have an event to go to or if I wake up looking dull. It really sets the base for the day. It has Ubiquinone and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate. Those are really good ingredients and let&#39;s not forget the fact that this is an affordable product. Where I am its 8qr which is about $2.20.

I&#39;ve not had any issues with this product. It hasn&#39;t caused any breakouts or irritated my skin in anyway. I would recommend this product.

I&#39;ve been using this product for 2 months give or take and here&#39;s my take on it. Its a leave on brightening sleeping mask that is recommended to be used 2 times a week (this is written on the product). 
It&#39;s very calming and is filled with a lot of fruit extracts most of which are berries(blueberry,raspberry). It has niacinimide in it as well. 
I&#39;ve got no issues with this product and would recommend it to anyone.
