Back story:
It's been unbearably hot this March 2021 right? I can definitely feel that my skin is getting dehydrated each and everyday since I ran out of toner that month. Hence, I had to buy something that will supple up my skin again without hurting my wallet. That's when I stumbled with @A'pieu' 18 First Toner which was on sale at A'pieu's Official Store in Lazada. I got it for a discounted price of PHP 316.00 for its orginal price of PHP 395.00. I've already been using it for four months now, and I say, it is too good for its price.
So, what are the benefits of A'pieu 18 First Toner?
Good thoughts:
It is scented but it is not irritating. At first I was skeptical to use this product because it was mildly scented. Scented products often irritate me and trigger my breakouts but this A'pieu 18 First Toner did a great job despite its herby-like-scent. I guess it is understandable that it has that kind of scent because its main ingredients are derived from six green vegetables. See the ingredients list for reference.
It is slightly acidic of a PH level of 5.5. It is a big plus that this toner is formulated to be close to our skin's natural PH level, that way it won't disrupt our skin barrier, right?
It adheres immediately to the skin. The formulation of this product is very watery and it is comparable to Etude House's Soon Jung Toner, which I will also be reviewing.
It is free from dangerous ingredients. Thanks to @liahyoo I learned that checking the ingredients of skincare products is a gamechanger in our skincare journey. Ever since then I've always checked my every purchase like a geek and it helped me out a lot in sorting my decisions. A'pieu's 18 First Toner does not contain alcohol, essential oils, and SLS and SLES, however it does have fragrance from Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, but it is not really bothering at all.
I use to layer this toner two to three times in a patting motion to achieve the certain amount of hydration I want. Also, I often soak my cotton pads and use it as a mask to target areas where I usually feel tight like my forehead and cheeks.
Bad thoughts:
However, it just gives moderate hydration for a dry skin like me. As I am using this I can't stop trying to compare it with Mamonde's Floral Hydro Ampoule Toner which is more viscous and has really plumped up my skin with moisture. I can say that the A'pieu 18 First Toner is quite hydrating. It relieved the feeling of tightness and cracking-like-feeling inside my skin but it is not very plumping compared to the later product I said. I guess its hydration is similar to that of Etude House Soon Jung Toner. Anyways, if I could rate its hydration effects, I guess I'll give it a 4 out of 5.
