Moisture Surge Gel Cream
📑 This gel cream is packed with watermelon extract, which promises to help permeate the skin with moisture and restore the balance on your hydrolipidic barrier.
✔️ Gel cream hybrid–leaning more gel, tbh feels like those aloe vera soothing gels with just more body to it.
✔️ Didn't suffocate my skin or cause pore clogging.
✔️ No fragrance, vegan, cruelty-free, and essential oil free.
✔️ Little amount goes a very long way. Highly cost effective(110ml)
✖️ 4th ingredient is dimethicone so expect a very silicone-y texture. Beware if you have an allergy on silicones.
✖️ Personally not a fan of the jar packaging, I find it unhygienic.
✖️ No details about PAO on box and product itself.
✖️ Doesn't absorb much and just forms a layer on top of skin so it isn't very friendly with sunscreens.
⚠️Update: This is the renewal version, it doesn't come with own spatula unlike the old one. So please keep that mind✌🏻
💭Thoughts💭
Don't let this gel looking moisturizer fool you, it's much more than that. Since the cold weather is slowly downing upon us, I find this moisturizer most beneficial for me during this transition on the weather.
It feels like a gel, hydrating and refreshing, while at the same delivering some occlusivity which I love. I find it moisturizing enough to use throughout the night and my skin doesn't feel dried out the next day. In fact, it literally acts like a perfect sealant ontop which really traps in the hydration. In regards to it's supposed soothing benefits, I personally don't see much of a result from this alone sadly. Due to the silicone-y texture, it's very easy to over apply this, just be careful when applying.
I don't get why this isn't hearing a lot of praises from the community. Worth a shot to try out if you're looking for a decent moisturizer for barrier care.
