Clear Improvement Oil-Free Moisturiser with Bamboo Charcoal
First off, they've changed the name/description of this moisturizer to Pore Clearing Moisturizer with Bamboo Charcoal. It's a moisturizer that can be used morning and/or night and it contains 1% salicylic acid. It does give a disclaimer that you should use this moisturizer once a day until you've built resilience to the strength of the salicylic acid. It feels a little minty on the skin and smells lightly like salicylic acid.
I've been using this moisturizer for about 2 weeks now and I'm not sure if I've noticed a difference in my pores. I started off with using it only once a day at night, to using it twice a day. I have combination skin with a lot of sebum bumps and it doesn't look like my skin has improved. What I do like about this moisturizer is that it does not cause my face to peel and it does not feel tacky when applied.
I really wanted to like this product because I have a lot of sebum on my face, especially on my chin. I usually use a pad with 2% salicylic acid and that helps shave down my sebum bumps for smoother skin. With this moisturizer, it has a lower concentration of salicylic acid that I'm used to so it didn't really help me with my problem areas. Instead, I feel like it created more problems. To elaborate, I have combination skin so other areas of my face are more oily than other areas. When I used this moisturizer, I applied it everywhere on my face, even on areas where sebum production is not as great. This was a bad idea because it irritated the skin on the apples of my cheeks and it stung whenever I applied any face products there. This moisturizer makes my skin extra dry whenever I don't have any skin care products on.
Overall, this moisturizer is not a good fit for me but it could be for someone else. However, I say if you have a lot of sebum bumps like me and you don't like the appearance of them, you are better off using a pad with 2% salicylic acid to shave down those bumps.
