Cicalfate+ Restorative Protective Cream
Avene Cicalfate (UPDATED)
I like Cerave moisturising cream but now I think I like this Avène cicalfate restorative cream better. Read more to find out why.
Few weeks ago, my skin started to feel a lot drier and dehydrated than usual after I incorporated this one product after quite some times. The ample hydration I supplied beforehand did not seem to help much and it was frustrating. My skin screamed for help but nothing seems to be really helpful.
I reached out for this Avène cicalfate restorative cream that one night when I felt so done, dampened my skin with the tap water, applied a good layer of this and hit the sack right away. I woke up the next morning my skin felt A LOT better from 30% to 80% overnight. Immensely impressed. Its performance is amazing and absolute winner for me.
Now, what makes this better than Cerave moisturising cream in certain way?
Cerave moisturising cream is great for daily use, gives a nice finish but when my skin is in a bad state, it burns and stings quite badly that I always end up washing it off right away.
On the other hand, Avene cicalfate restorative cream is not ideal for daily use [especially in Malaysia climate] because of its super rich, thick texture, will turn you like a greaseball right away, BUT it never burns or stings, no matter what's my skin condition is at the moment. It makes your skin feels protected, and a lot safer, like when we are under a comfy and thick and so much restored in the next day.
I LOVE TO REACH OUT FOR THIS ON MY LAZY NIGHT :)
And not to forget, how I love this as a hand cream, its thickness is ideal for my super dry hand, greasy at first but feels like nothing after it sets in, which explains why I always go for a few layers.
I don't mind the finish if the product gives me a good result. Now I totally get it why @the.top.shelf.edit will repurchase this until their last day living. And why this is @whatsonvisface 's fav moisturiser for winter.
The fact that it can feel greasy when being applied on the face.
