Peptide Shot Serum
This product was gifted for free by Coreana and Picky in exchange for my honest review.
The little lines you see in the formula? Those are peptide strings, not flower petals as one might think at first glance. I adore exfoliating ingredients like glycolic acid, so I was excited to use this since I haven’t seen a ton of exfoliating serums on the market. I really loved how lightweight this serum was, and it didn’t irritate my overly sensitive skin at all. The peptides were super fascinating to watch break down as you work the serum into your skin. I felt like this serum left my skin feeling more soft and bouncy.
Usually glycolic acid and peptides aren’t meant to be used together in skincare, as the GA can impact the efficacy of the peptides. However, when conflicting ingredients are used in the same product, it’s different than using two separate products as the two in one is meant to be complimentary and I trust the chemists behind a product.
Like I said above, my overly sensitive skin didn’t have an issue with this. Just remember not to mix it with an acid based cleanser, acid based toner, or acid based moisturizer. Then your skin will be okay just like mine was! If you had a reaction, you may have not realized you used more than one product with exfoliating ingredients in it and it was too much for your skin to handle. Or your skin may not like the mixing of retinoids/exfoliating acids at the same step (try one in morning and one at night or use them on separate days like I do).
The scent was really strong on this one. To the point that I can’t see myself repurchasing. This is why I took a star off my review.
