Barrier+ Skin Barrier Restoring Gel Cream
I was looking for a cream to help repair my skin barrier and had heard good things about Skinfix, so I tried their barrier restoring gel cream.
I was particularly interested in the four key ingredients: Saccharide Isomerate, Niacinamide, Heptapeptides and Zinc PCA.
Saccharide Isomerate: A natural humectant that binds moisture to the skin, ensuring long lasting hydration throughout the day.
Niacinamide: A multitasking ingredient that helps even out the skin tone and reduces redness. It also targets the appearance of pores and controls excess oil, which I don't happen to suffer with.
Heptapeptides: They work to improve skin elasticity and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Zinc PCA: This ingredient is good for anyone with oily or acne-prone skin. It helps regulate sebum production and calms inflammation. Whilst I personally don't suffer with oily skin, it does help keep pesky blemishes at bay.
The tub has a single dose dispensing pump top, which allows for the correct amount of product to be used and reduces contamination as well as waste. The texture of this gel cream is incredibly lightweight and refreshing. It glides smoothly onto the skin and absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy or sticky residue. There is a slight scent to this cream, which is not the best, but it soon dissipates.
I find this cream particularly useful for when I have upset my skin barrier, especially when trying lots of different skincare products in a short space of time. It helps to settle and rebalance my skin and calms any flare up of my rosacea.
This cream is suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive and acne prone skins.
Although this is a fragrance free product, there is a natural scent, which I didn't particularly enjoy. It is also fairly expensive.
