Face Melt Cleansing Balm
I was so disappointed with this cleansing balm. Does it work well? Absolutely, yes. Does it work well enough for me to overlook the drawbacks of it? Absolutely not. The first thing you’ll notice when you open up this cleansing balm is the overwhelming cooking oil and burnt plastic scent it has. And I do mean overwhelming. At first I actually thought maybe I just had a rancid product, but after consulting with multiple other people about it, I think that’s just the way it smells. It performs great though. Removes all makeup and sunscreen, even waterproof mascara, quickly and easily. Doesn’t sting or blur eyes either. But then we get to the other drawback. It doesn’t emulsify and rinse off when you add water. I’ve never used a cleansing balm that didn’t emulsify at all, but again after consulting with other people who have also used it, they had the same issue. It feels like you’re just rubbing grease on your face when you add water. It takes a long, long time for it to finally rinse off. I tried emulsifying it twice with the same results, so to work around that I just used a cloud puff to wipe it off instead of using water. But I’d prefer to emulsify and rinse off with water, so I really wasn’t pleased with that.
To be honest, I didn’t enjoy this one at all and I really had to force myself to finish this entire tub of it because I hate just wasting product even if I don’t like it. I can’t recommend this one. There are just so many other nice cleansing balms out there that there’s no reason to use one like this. I have no idea how people like this product at all.
