I’ll be honest, when I first went to try this mask I was a bit skeptical. On the box it said you have to wait for it to turn clear before you take it off. I did not think it would turn clear but sure enough after 40 minutes it did! My skin has felt sort of bleh recently. I’m not really broken out or sensitive, I just haven’t felt like I’ve had my best skin. After using the mask it gave me such a confidence boost in how I felt. I had this vibrant, dewey glow to my face. And while I am young so my skin still does have a natural bounce to it, this mask left me without the feeling of excess product or that tightening feeling some skincare products can leave you with. The mask itself is very lightweight. Sometimes I’ll wear a mask and be checking my timer every few minutes to see how much longer I have till I can finally take it off. I had set a timer for every 10 minutes (to check and see if it was getting clearer) and the 40 minutes flew by quickly with no uncomfortable feeling of “ugh I can’t wait to be able to move my face again.” The excess serum absorbed smoothly into my skin with minimal patting and didn’t leave me feeling like I was wearing an extra layer afterwards either. The mask itself after having gone clear reminded me of those hydrocolloid patches/bandages that people use when they have a bad pimple they want to heal. Taking off the mask it was about the same viscosity those pimple patches. It was cloudy and did have those bubbles/circles that the patches have when the moisture of the pimple absorbs into them. Another bonus I love with this mask is the fact that I didn’t have to wash my face after taking it off. I know some masks (ex a clay mask) it’s necessary to wash your face before and after, for me I don’t have the time or patience to wash my face twice within 30-60mins. I don’t use a lot of masks (mostly for environmental reasons) but when I do, I like to use ones that are simple and actually benefitting my skin. This mask does that! This mask has easy to follow instructions and is what it says it is (ie it’s not like some masks that say they’ll help hydrate your skin and leave you feeling dry). It contains collagen, retinal and niacinamide which are all meant to help keep your skin youthful and hydrated I wouldn’t use this mask every night (it’s not great to use products with retinal when you’re going out in the sun remember) but this is definitely a treat yourself kind of mask that’s great whenever you need a well deserved pick me up 💗💚
