Daily Microfoliant
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant ($59) polishes away dull uneven texture to achieve brighter, silky-soft skin. This rice-based enzyme powder activates when wet and gently micro-exfoliates dead skin cells. Green Tea, Ginkgo and Oatmeal calms while mild Salicylic Acid unclogs pores. An exfoliation for daily care!
⚪Ideally for:
Pores
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Dullness and Uneven Texture
⚪My Experience:
I don't know how to feel about this product. On one side, the positive side--after a few minutes, my skin feels absolutely soft. I have dry skin & rough, horrid textures from enlarged pores--but once I use this my skin feels so smooth & clean. Very clean, in fact.
❌But it hurts during the exfoliation. After you gently exfoliate--it stays raw for a long time until you finish it up with moisturizers and other calming agents.
Not to mention it's a huge learning curve--add too much water, it literally seeps through your fingers. Add less--it's way too abrasive a thickness. You need to watch the amount used otherwise you'll be adding too much or too little. Like my brother did when he panicked and ended up adding too much, which caused him to over-exfoliate and rub his skin bloody raw. (I wish I was kidding but he cut himself up pretty bad!)
Honestly, Dermalogica would do better just making an exfoliation cream instead of this powder. You definitely need to be pro in skincare, not a novice just messing around with "face stuff." Lol
What really sold me on the 3/5 stars was how they claim this is supposed to be a product used DAILY! Micro-exfoliation this extreme should be by-weekly, at best.
Another fun thing--I was deathly afraid of getting it into my eye, so after the whole experience I was more paranoid than relaxed. I also had lingering feelings of grit in my eye. Lol
And another negative, this stuff isn't too pleasant to smell. Reminiscent of Baby Formula but I guess it makes sense with skin so baby soft, though!
If you plan to purchase--I highly suggest you add some into a gentle face wash. Perhaps something moisturizing, just for the extra moisturizing benefits. And after you master that--slowly graduate to trying it alone. Just so you can learn the proper amount & consistency for you.
Also, it would help build up your tolerance to the abrasive nature of this exfoliant.
