Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Skin Treatment
Snail mucin is a popular ingredient in K-beauty for very good reason: It provides lightweight hydration without any pore-clogging or irritation, and it can even help with existing acne. For someone with oily, acne-prone skin, like me, it can be an especially good ingredient! So, I'm always interested in trying snail mucin products, including this one from a beloved brand.
This product is simply labeled as a skin treatment, but I would characterize it as more of a cross between an essence and a serum. In addition to small mucin, it contains glycerin, another hydrating ingredient, as well as niacinamide, an ingredient well known for helping to support the skin barrier, soothe skin, and brighten. But wait, there's more! Adenosine is known for anti-aging, and tea tree helps treat any existing acne and prevent new zits. As you can see, each of these ingredients works in amazing synergy with snail mucin, boosting its moisturizing and skin-soothing effects.
This product is clear and has a slick, serum-like texture due to the snail mucin. Two pumps is enough to cover my face and neck, and even my oily skin immediately drinks it up. I love how it adds another layer of hydration under my moisturizer or sunscreen. The pump bottle is made of beautiful glass, and I love that it helps keep out any air and germs that might contaminate the product. It's also an enormous bottle! You really get your money's worth!
I'm not that sensitive to fragrance, but I think this stuff reeks! When I first started using it, I was stunned by how strong the fragrance is. I think it's enough added fragrance to make this product more drying for the skin than it should be. For this reason alone, this is probably not a repurchase for me, even though the ingredients are amazing.
