Bakuchiol is said to be the gentler substitute for Vitamin A. Finally I can confirm the soft drink scent that I picked up in a bakuchiol cream sample smelling like Sarsi comes from the ingredient. Retinol product typically has an intense yellow color but this is straight up NEON! Didn't stain my skin at all. Love the melting buttery texture🧈

This night cream has Retinal 300ppm + Bakuchiol 10,000ppm, equivalent to 0.03% & 1%. Never have i thought this product has a texture so slimy like snail mucin/Japanese natto bean. Not the best finish on my skin type as it gives a slow absorbing wet feel. I really doubt its claims on exfoliation with such a texture lol🤔 The feeling is quite weird, it stays on the skin quite awhile & u will feel a somehow clammy 'greasy' sensation. 
These days I lean more towards product with good mix of ingredients, so won't get single ingredient products like this anytime soon.

This essence is made of simple ingredients, only containing 4 kinds of fermented extracts. I've used this as a lazy day serum, skipping toner & moisturiser sometimes coz it is able to give lasting hydration plus light moisturisation. Although it feels slippy & 'oily' it sinks in after all, just need to give it some time.

I think it would best suit normal and dry skin type, pretty sure yr skin will love how moist it is and drinks it all! 💦

May not be moisturising enough in air con room & dry climate. My combo skin T zone tend to become greasy easily when weather is hot & if i apply more than a small pea size, mainly due to silicone content in it. Maybe it's just me 😅

Texture is so nice for combo skin. It will melt into watery emulsion state when contact with skin. Has a little menthol cooling sensation. Great lemongrass scent i love it. Comes with a spatula.

Nope! I can very much tell that this is gonna suit me well just thru the ingredients, bcoz it doesn't contain super heavy emollient or occlusives which will affect the absorption rate & finish when it settles. I don't get the hype of COSRX's due the never drying finish that takes a long time to settle although it also has no heavy stuffs

Cutting it short - Both are vry similar in terms of performance & absorption so the texture preference makes the only difference.

🐌Essence suits combo & oily skin more. Lighter compared to cream without silicone.
🐌Cream suits normal & dry skin more. Still may need to top up a more occlusive layer like face oil/balm for even better moisture retention.

Now it's so much easier to choose which one to get. Will you try it?


Well my skin does get slightly more oily than usual right before my menses. So I may just skip this kind of moisturiser or always have physical sunscreen as the last layer to control sebum. It also neutralises the finish to be lightly matte. Just nice for 🇲🇾 climate here

Ingredients are balanced with ceramide (5 types)+chlorestrol+fatty acid (Meadowfoam seed oil) specially for barrier repair. It's also my 1st time trying the ingredient Meadowfoam seed oil🤓 Has a butter like texture & contains some eo thus may not suit users who are sensitive to it. Love the relaxing scent🌱

The formulation has lots of other rich ingredients like silicone, shea butter, stearic/palmitic acid etc together making it a thick cream that may be considered heavy for my combo clog prone skin. But it's so nicely formulated, I'm pleased to discover that with the right amount it sinks in & settles so well! Looks like Meadowfoam seed oil is my thing now😛
