I'm hoping to try the new Rovectin Lotus Water Calming Sheet Mask. It sounds refreshing, and I predict it will have a lightweight essence which my skin will just drink up.

I've really been into Benton products this Summer. I've been using their products for a few years now, but it wasn't until recently that I tried their customers favourites (the Goodbye Redness line and Aloe Line). 

So I was wondering, what is your favourite Benton product that you've either brought yourself or received as PR?

Mine is their fermentation essence which I never got round to reviewing 🤦‍♀️

Mention below a Korean Skincare product that you love, but believe doesn't receive enough credit for its performance. In my opinion, the Innisfree Blueberry Balancing foam cleanser deserves more hype. In the past 2 years it has slowly started to gain more recognition globally as some international sites now sell it, but I still think it needs more praise. It was one of my best product discovers during the time I lived in Korea. What's yours? ⬇️

Underrated K-Beauty products

In January, I mentioned on Instagram 2 Korean sunscreens which I know passed both independent and external retesting after the controversy surrounding the performance of countless facial sunscreens. It seems like many people are still on the look out for sunscreens to trust, especially as it is taking longer than expected for brands to reformulate their products to meet the requirements to be classed as a high spectrum sun protection product.

I would of course like to share with you the documents which prove and support these claims, although the are not mine to share. To my knowledge they haven't publicly released the successful retesting results, but maybe they can be found somewhere online or on the brand's social media pages (I acquired the documents from an official retailer of Banobagi and d'Alba as I work with retailer as a blog writer). 

These are the results:

☀️ The d'Alba Waterfull Essence Sun Cream has an SPF value of 63.5 (PFA 22.10, PA ++++). This exceeded expectations. It was originally believed that it was SPF 50.

☀️ The Banobagi Milk Thistle Repair Sunscreen has an SPF value of 51 (PFA 11, PA +++).

This cleanser is ideal for those who are looking for gentle cleansing - and by this I mean a deep enough clean but without putting stress on skin. It removes excess sebum well without drying out skin and retains enough moisture so that your skin doesn&#39;t feel  uncomfortable after cleansing. I use it morning and night and haven&#39;t experienced any issues as a result of using it so frequently.

If used just once per day it is non-drying for skin, but if used too consistently - twice per day - combination skin may begin to feel tight. I wouldn&#39;t advise foam cleansers like this one for dry skin types.

The 𝐂𝐎𝐒𝐑𝐗 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫 encompasses all the a soothing&#47;calming and strengthening effects of Centella Asiatica. This low pH, soft foam cleanser lathers to produce abundant foam to not only cleanse away impurities we encounter in everyday life, it challenges excess sebum whilst maintaining the skin&#39;s natural moisture barrier.⁣⁣

This cleanser, most suitable for sensitive combination~oily skin types, is formulated with CICA-7 Complex and Pinus Pinaster Bark Extract. These extracts work in harmony to break the cycle of weakening and damaging skin&#39;s moisture barrier which is typically incurred through excessive facial cleansing or the use of strong acidic facial cleansers, peeling masks, scrubs, etc.⁣⁣

This cleanser leaves skin feeling smooth, supple and comfortable at each and every use. Even if used everyday my skin doesn&#39;t feel deprived of moisture. What I like most about this product is the calming effects. In comparison to my previous foam cleanser, the Cosrx cica cleanser doesn&#39;t cause redness to the thinner or most delicate areas of my skin (cheeks, underneath my eyes, around the nostrils). Simply, my skin feels more balanced when using this cleanser and therefore I&#39;m also experiencing less breakouts due to the high concentration of Cica.

Some would say it&#39;s not really a serum, it more so has the texture of a light cream or gel-cream. If you want a more watery or &#39;typical&#39; serum texture, then this product might not be what you are looking for.

If we consider immediate effects then this serum gives that commonly desired sheer glow or sheen to skin without pearlescent pigments like a primer would or even some other emulsified serums. Although, I wouldn&#39;t say this could be used in a replacement to a primer as it doesn&#39;t fill pores.

Some people reading this may think it&#39;s irrelevant for me to be comparing this serum to nature of primers. The reason why I mentioned this point is because some people are trying to apply less products to their face to prevent maskne; therefore more than ever people seek to use skin care as a replacement to makeup or certain steps within a makeup regime (e.g. primers). 

Regardless, this serum is brilliant for combination and oily skin types this season. It balances skin and doesn&#39;t encourage excess sebum production. It&#39;s fast absorbing for convenience in the morning or simply for those who don&#39;t like residue after applying skin care.

The class bottle can become slippery if you aren&#39;t careful

Basically it&#39;s all all-rounder! It soothes, nourishes &amp; revitilises. And when you think it can&#39;t get any better, I looked in the serum&#39;s &#39;Newplex&#39; patented technology - which takes inspiration from ancient skin care remedies which serve the purpose of relieving stressed skin, by protecting skin from the outset from external stressors as well as soothing the problems that already persist. Pomegranates, figs, ginkgo and mulberry are combined to form this complex. All the ingredients in this are EWG rated &#39;green&#39;&#47;1~2 (low hazard). For me, the texture is a strong 9&#47;10. It&#39;s has that natural stickiness of propolis, but it doesn&#39;t take ages to soak into skin because it still contains enough watery ingredients to spread out nicely without dragging. What&#39;s more it&#39;s lightweight enough to use during the day if desired. I like to use it in place of a makeup primer, as it gives a natural sheen to skin without those pearlescent specks that some illuminating primers have.

It doesn&#39;t eliminate as much redness as I would expect from an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant rich toner. 

It can take a long time to notice its brightening effects.

I&#39;ve been using this toner for almost 1 month now and I can say it&#39;s a very helpful addition to my skincare routine. It was evident from the first use that this toner is very calming for sensitive skin. My skin didn&#39;t reduce in redness immediately, but the soothing effects are prominent. Whenever my skin feels itchy after cleansing, I rely on this toner to bring comfort to my skin. 

Because of this toner&#39;s additional cleansing functionalities, I sometimes use this as my cleanser&#47;toner in the morning time. Now I know multi-step skincare products usually aren&#39;t that great for skin, but if you have inner dehydrated skin cleansing twice daily can be excessive. So even as someone with oily skin, I don&#39;t always use a rinse-off cleanser in the morning, because sometimes that can lead to over cleansing which just creates a vicious cycle of have imbalanced skin and my skin will just get even oiler.

Therefore, as I said, some mornings I use this cleansing toner for both my cleansing and toner steps. It makes skin feel more refreshed and it&#39;s more impactful that just washing your face with water alone at the start of a day. Of course don&#39;t entirely eliminate cleansers from your routine when using a cleansing toner like this one.
