My experience using this cleansing balm has been positive. It removes makeup in a gentle way, soothes and protects your skin barrier, and is easy to use. The tiny spatula helps you use the right amount every time, so there’s no putting your fingers in the jar and possibly contaminating the product. You massage the cleansing balm into to dry skin and rinse with warm water. All my makeup comes off with ease and it leaves my skin soft and clean and not stripped dry.

I haven't tried the tatcha indigo balm but the overnight recovery cream is actually great! I'm oily skin and acne prone but I use a very minimal amount on the nights I need it and on nights I use Sunday riley high dose retinol and the picky complaint I have is the price. But I use such a tiny bit at a time it'll last a long time. I'm guessing that even people with dry skin wouldn't need too much, a little goes a long way. Especially if you later it over a gel moisturizer or just a hydrating serum
