Tips to convince your man (dad, bf) to use suncreen

Hi everyone! I found out that everyone need sunscreen for their skins everyday. But there are still stereotypes like skin care is for girl only My dad’s work requires him to work outside alot so I noticed that his skin conditions is getting worse day by day. Im not just concerned for his looks but mostly his health I tried convince him multiple times myself but he just on and off used sunscreen for 1 or 2 days ( them some of his co worker mocking him on using sunscreen) so he just stoped 😞 If you have any tips to convince your surroundings to take care of their skinhealth, Im really opened and appreciate to hear your opinions. Thank you !! Here is the sunscreen that im using so I gave it to him too

Get something from Men line, it usually helps them to feel that's it's ok to put it on, and if others see it it's "ok". I know it's a prejudice and do not agree with it but whatever works.

I agree. Did you make it clear it’s about preventing things like skin cancer? Maybe this will help him feel less “vain”...It’s for your health!

Tell him not only the risk of skin cancer, but also how worried you are because by not wearing sunscreen, he is increasing his chance to get cancer. He may not care much about it and may even ignore the risk, but he surely cares about your feelings because you are his child.

Hello! You should tell him to go to the bathroom to put it on. Go in the stalls if he has to. Or maybe he can put it on before work, in the car or at home?

He applied it at home once in the morning and I told him to re apply it in the afternoon before got home. I believe he applied it in the bathroom at his workplace but there were people (bad people) at the moment too. Also I think the problem is he also has the thought himself that skincare is for girl only too 😞 I just wonder is there any better way that I could explain it to him that his skin need it and it is normal using sunscreen Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it !!

Struggling to make my boyfriend to wear sunscreen EVEN THOUGH he started developing keratosis on his face and the doctor told him to use it. I bought him one. I make sure I apply my sunscreen on in front of him before we go out. He won’t budge. So all I can say it’s everyone’s personal choice, and unless they decide to look after themselves there’s nothing you can do.

Do it for him. My boyfriend is shy to do any skincare but if I'm like "come here, I'll put this on your face" and then apply it myself, it's ok and he let's me do it. Sometimes he asks about what is it and why it's good. This won't work for a father as in the original post but it should be fine for a boyfriend or even a sibling.
