BHA alternative

Hi, in Europe BHA is now a suspected endocrine disruptor thanks to a danish study. Knowing that, will you stop the use of salycilic acid? If yes, what are the alternatives for this exfoliant ideal for oily and acne prone skin? If not, what is your stance on endocrine disruptor in skincare?

If you're looking for an alternative to salicylic acid, I suggest trying willow bark extract. It's essentially from salicylic acud, but it's really toned down. It's not as potent as salicylic acid tho so changes could happen a lot longer. One product I know is this from cosrx.

Oh, I don't know about the news yet. If you ask the alternative of BHA, have you heard about LHA? Lipohydroxy acid (LHA) is a derivative of salicylic acid (BHA) with unique properties that explain its clinical effects in the skin. Lipohydroxy acid has skin renewing, exfoliating, and acne treating properties and is a commonly used ingredient in personal skin care products.... Source: Joshua A. Zeichner, MD

No but does it convert to salycilic acid when it is in the skin?

Personally, i will not switch to BHA due to the study. If you do mind, this is a good alternative to BHA. Silybum marianum fruit extract can reduce oilness and appearence of blemishes.

Well I’ve been hearing great things about PHA (Polyhydroxy acid) that it’s more gentle than AHA’s and BHA’s so maybe I will try that.
