I generally prefer to use products without essential oils and know what to look for in the ingredients list. However I have tried a few products that contained EOs and have been lucky enough to avoid any irritation. I just make sure to patch test. Some companies use them for added fragrance so if they are far down the ingredient list they may not irritate. You should never use an undiluted EO directly on the skin, always dilute it. Here is an article about EOs: https://www.allure.com/story/essential-oils-guide

My skin can be sensitive to essential oils, specifically lavendar and citrus based ones. I avoid products that contain this as much as possible. Some essential oils I'm not fazed about, as long as it's formulated well and very subtly in a product. If the product is overpowered with EO's I do choose not to risk it.

same here, I notice some citrus products can cause mild irritation in my skin, so I usually avoid them, unless itโ€™s way down on the ingredient list, thanks for sharing your thoughts :)

I have no issues with EO, but i do think if you are sensitive towards them itโ€™s best to look for products without itโ˜บ๏ธ

In general, i avoid products that contain them. Some essential oils are good for skin. I think it also depends on the openness of the company - are the oils pure? if not, you could damage your skin instead!

thatโ€™s such a good point, lately Iโ€™ve seen some companies get in trouble for not listing certain ingredients & when they do, sometimes they donโ€™t list the percentage, which can be misleading to consumers

I generally don't mind it though try to avoid it if I can. But I wish brands would stop marketing their products as fragrance free but uses essential oils as natural fragrances. Especially when the essential oils are sensitizing and has no other function other than fragrance.

yes!!! I'm scent sensitive, but then buy "fragrance free" just to discover it's not true. i don't repurchase from those companies bc i consider that lying. i end up spending money to toss in the trash
