Should a salicylic acid cleanser be used twice a day and everyday ?

I've been currently using the Cerave Renewing SA Cleanser which has SA in it everyday morning and evening, and I noticed that it didn't leave a stripping or drying sensation on my skin. However, my skin just kept having acnes, mostly hormonal. I wonder if they're caused by overly stripping with salicylic acid or purging ( I've been using the Cerave cleanser for more than a month and my skin seem smoother, but it still have acnes and alot of acne scars) Should I keep using it everyday morning and evening or every other days instead ?

In my opinion, if you have really oily acne prone skin, it can be *okay* to use a salicylic acid cleanser everyday but not more than once. Try to use a gentle cleanser in the morning and the salicylic one at night. but if you start to feel your skin getting stripped, I would lay off and use it every other day or as needed. πŸ₯°

i used to use a salicylic acid cleanser, it felt stripping and drying my skin and it led to breakout & maybe you can try to use salicylic acid in the morning and in the night you can use another gentle facial wash but personally I'm not a fan of salicylic acid cleanser since the percentage of the salicylic acid in cleanser is low ( and I feel it doesn't help on my hormonal acne) and I think that the 2% salicylic acid serum helps a lot on my hormonal acne, when it comes to salicylic acid you have to incorporate the hydrating products and always use sunscreen (you can find products without alcohol & perfume, both of this ingredients often sensitized acne prone skin and it works on me) hope this helps you ❀😍 good luck🀞

I wouldn't recommend using salicylic acid cleanser every day. When I first started using it, I did the same thing and my skin looked and felt great but the more frequent I cleanse with it, my skin felt tight and broke out eventually. I had to wait for my skin to recover to start using salicylic acid cleanser again. Now I use only once aday, 2-3 times a week. It's better not to risk ruining our skin.

yeah actually I'm trying to do the same thing now. Although my skin doesn't get stripped and dried out easily cuz I have oily skin, I still feel like my skin barrier is ruined cuz my face get itchy more than usual. Thank you for your recommendation 😊

if its a prescription of a derma you can use it twice a day. and if not you can use it 2-3x a week. but it still depends on your skin if, it can tolerate to use it as a daily cleanser.
