My mom’s derm told her to use La Roche Posay as CeraVe wasn’t moisturizing enough for her extremly dry skin. But in terms of the cleansers, i don’t think it really matters that much. Also, you wash off your cleansers, so i wouldn’t worry about comedogenic and non comedogenic ingredients unless you’re allergic to them.

In fact both of these brands are great! If you take pharmacy brands, these are some of the best + Avene!

i think you can switch to la roche posay without problem. it actually has more good ingredients than cerave one. on the other hand it’s more expensive but not like some kind of a crazy expensive so it shouldn’t be a problem. and i would pay more attention to if the product is comedonig in case of moisturizer and sunscreens etc - products that stay on your skin. wash-off products shouldn’t be problematic when we’re talking about clogging pores.

I personally have had better experience with LRP than Cerave. It does tend to be a little more expensive than cerave but I think it's worth it. To me it feels like cerave is great for introductory no frills skincare (for example for teenagers). It gets the job done. But LRP is like the next step up (for example 20s and beyond) where it gets the job done but also provides more support for your skin. If that makes any sense,😂 LRP is really great for dry sensitive skin. I have eczema and their products saved my skin.
