Facial Oils

Some questions about facial oils because I'm kinda lost 🥲 How do you integrate facial oils into your routine? Do you prefer to use them in the morning or in the evening? Do facial oils affect the stability, effectiveness and coverage of a sunscreen (since sunscreens and their UV filters are often dissolved in oil and oils dissolve in other oils)? In other words: Are facial oils safe to use with another sunscreen in the same routine? I'm still trying to figure out how to use The Potions's Jojoba Oil... 😂😅 I did find that mixing it into my moisturizer is quite nice – but then again I'm scared it will clog my pores and set me back in treating the acne I have. 🥴

Oily/Sensitive

I would use it at night before your moisturizer. Yes, oils mess with the effectiveness of sunscreen, so I would not recommend using it during your morning routine. I hope this helps 😊

Oily/Resilient

Hello! I see your skin type is Dry/Resilient, I say use it at night as your last step. I have oily/combination, acne-prone skin. So really I just use 2-3 drops. I have only used it once so far, and the application has been okay. it leaves a light glistening finish/shine on my face. I use it at night. I didn’t wake up with any breakouts so far. Think using it during the day with sunscreen is fine but it would probably breakdown your sunscreen faster. ( Just my thoughts, obviously not an expert) Check that you aren’t enriching a moisturizer that already has oils in it. Most moisturizers even gel moisturizers already have at least one oil in them. Hence it’s not necessary to buy a separate oil let alone have it as part of you routine. Unless it’s your preference.

Dry/Resilient

Oh dear, thanks for the tip 🥴 My current moisturizer does contain oils so I really should stop using it on my face 😂 I might switch to applying it on my body and scalp then.

I use mine at night, you can use it as the last step of your routine since it is occlusive but you can also mix it with a moisturizer which u say you do usually I do that and I’ve been loving it and since it’s a facial oil it’s been formulated for ur face it really shouldn’t clog your pores and especially since ur skin is dry but everyone is different
