I'm lazy...

Honestly, how bad is it if I don't wash my face daily or twice a day? I often don't put makeup on until late in the day, so by 1 am- I'm too lazy to get up and wash my face or use any skin care products. I've been this way for 45 years. How much damage am I causing to my skin and am I just adding to the problem I have aging; as in the fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots I keep getting more of?

First of all, make up is notorious for clogging pores, and I personally never not washed it off for this reason alone, even when its 3 am and I'm drunk as hell and feel ill after a night out, cause I don't want to wake up with the spots all over my face. Secondly, the aging process can speed up due to makeup, your skin is going through a recovery process at night, and make up slows down that process meaning you can experience premature aging Thirdly, there's risk of eye infections and eye irritation due to all that mascara and eye shadow. So in conclusion I really think its keeping you from having the best possible skin. Unfortunately many people that don't experience any immidiate symptoms like spots are notorious for leaving make up on and it happens way more often than this community is letting onπŸ˜‚ All I can do is apologise for all the *gasps* you about to get/got

yea, I didn't start seeing signs of age spots and wrinkles from it until the last two-three years. I have a thick skin- Noone knows my story, so let them gasp. I never had a mom or a female to teach me this stuff. Thank you for your response and your kindness.

Girl - you are on a Skincare App. If you wouldn't already know that it is bad, you wouldn't be here, right... so I think you can guess the answers πŸ˜‰

Looks like she's fairly new, be kind. Besides, knowing that something is 'bad' is often not enough, why it's bad also needs to be explained, so it's a great question actually

It's really important that you do clean your face in the evening and don't sleep with your make up on. In the morning you can just wash your face with water. There's no real way of knowing how your skin would look like today if you were always diligent, but you can do better from today! πŸ’ͺ
