Clay mask after cleanser ?? but...

Normally, I use a clay mask after an oil cleanser then rinse off and finish with cleansing foam. Last night, I tried using clay mask after washing my face. Just like people and the instructions said. I wanted to see if there was any different effect if I followed the instruction correctly. After rinse the clay mask off with water, I continue my usual sc routine. My face feels fine, nothing weird. Then in the morning, I feel my face quite rugged, my pores are clogged. I think my evening sc is noncomedogenic, so I suspect clay mask. Has anyone had a similar experience? Or if any suggestions on how I should use the clay mask would be helpful. 💫💫

The correct order would be to apply the clay mask on cleansed skin - after the cleansing oil and the face wash. Don't leave the clay mask to dry on your face, if it's starts drying - time to wash it off before it dehydrates your skin. Did you moisturise after? I would suggest using a relatively rich moisturiser afterwards, to compensate for any moisture lost.

If you have dry skin, I don't know why you want to use a clay mask. If clogged pores are an issue, more hydration (toner), maybe low percentage lactic acid would help, and more moisture (oil).

I use clay mask only twice per week max. Need to exfoliate dead skin, my face can't take any active ingredients so I use clay mask. Do u have any suggestions about this?

I think there's a correct way, and there's a way that works for you, if you change back to the way you were using it and the issue resolves, then I don't see anything wrong with doing things the way that works for you personally😉 It's not some major active, this can be easily used how you like it

I think Mary and May offers some hydrating masks. They are on my list to try. I also used Innisfree. Although effective, it can be drying. My skin is also oily and Jumiso Waterfull gel cream works well for me. Good luck and please keep us informed.
