Lactic Acid 5% + HA
*empty*
This year I finally decided to use acid. Actually I have used it before but I didn't do a proper skincare basic step (the hydrating step). Besides, I over exfoliated my face so I got break out. I decided to stop using acid for years and after I had a better skin barrier, I tried the acid.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% was my first AHA I used on my skin. I used this at night 3 times a week after putting on my hydrating toner. I started slow for this acid thing because I didn't want to repeat my old mistake. There are so many AHA types out there and I chosed lactic acid since it's gentle enough for a newbie acid user. As expected, it was very mild to my skin. No tingling, no drying, it was just fine to me. This serum was so lightweight, almost like toner and easily sinked to my face. My skin also hydrated, thanks to Hyaluronic Acid and Glycerin and the Lactic Acid itself.
If you're new to acid, you can try The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% due to its gentleness to your skin. I didn't get any break out to my face too. Should I try the 10% concentration? ☺️
Note : Using acid can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight so make sure to always use sunscreen.
After completing 1 bottle of it, I realized that it doesn't give so much improvement to my face. This serum slightly helped my skin texture. Still, I woke up to a smoother face when I used this serum at night. Maybe I had to use it daily at night instead of 3 times a week (I kept using it 3 times a week until I finished a whole bottle).
