Bright-Eyed 100% Mineral Eye Cream SPF 40

product review positives
This is an SPF 40 (100% Zinc Oxide) eye cream that protects the eye area from harmful UV rays. The cream itself has a peachy, pearlescent sheen that brightens the under-eye area really nicely. It works on my pale skin tone and blurs some of the visible blue veins I have underneath my eyes since I don’t wear makeup daily. I finally thought I found a miracle SPF for my eyes because most SPF’s irritate and burn my sensitive eyes. When I saw this on sale at TJ Maxx for $10 I thought it was worth a try since this is still retailing on Sephora’s website for $36. There are few positive things to say about the actual formula though… For starters I like that one pump is the perfect amount dispensed to cover both of my eyelids and undereyes. The formula itself is on the thicker side but I don’t mind that in an “eye cream” (I use their description loosely since there really are no benefits in this for it to be considered an eye cream). This doesn’t burn my eyes and it doesn’t have that classic SPF smell we’re all too familiar with. Lastly, I absolutely love the color correcting this gives my eye area. I’ll have to find an actual eye cream with this sort of tint!
product review negatives
1. This thicker formula is not as fluid as I would like it to be for the eye area. I end up spreading this around my eyes by tugging because patting it in will absolutely not work. Every time I have tried patting it in the product just kind of collects around my eye area. 2. This has a tendency to pill sometimes. I find it is slightly easier to manipulate the cream if my under eyes are moisturized already but not by much. 3. The whole purpose of SPF is to reapply every two hours, but there is no way to re-apply this without it pilling on top of the layer you already applied. it actually looks so horrible that I don’t bother reapplying or using this product outside of my house.
