Shirojyun Premium Whitening Lotion Light
This lotion/toner claims to lighten dark spots, with active ingredients such as tranexamic acid, and a vitamin c derivative (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate). I was quite excited to try this, as Hada Labo is one of my fave brands. However, I have to say I’m rather disappointed (mostly because I feel the labelling of the product can be much clearer).
💧Texture: This is an extremely lightweight and runny toner. It is almost like water. I would say the consistency of this is the most similar to Hada Labo’s Gokujyun Lotion (Light).
🖐🏻Application: Given that it is so runny and lightweight, this does sink in quickly into my skin. It does not leave a tacky finish whatsoever.
💨Performance: I did see some brightening effect on my PIE and PIH, after constant use.
🌸Fragrance: No fragrance whatsoever, like other Hada Labo products.
💲Price: This is rather affordable, as Hada Labo is quite accessible where I’m from.
As someone with oily skin living in a humid climate, I find that I have to layer multiple layers to get the desired levels of hydration. As I previously used the Hada Labo Gokujyun (Moist) as my daily toner, I found that this was very lacking in terms of hydration, even after layering multiple layers. It felt like I was just splashing water on my skin.
I believe the Shirojyun Premium (Moist) lotion would be a far better alternative as it seems closer to the consistency of the Gokujyun Moist lotion which I enjoy using. I think Hada Labo should tweak the name of this product slightly, to Shirojyun Premium Lotion (Light) to give a clear indication that this is a very lightweight toner.
