Melano CC Concentrate Face Mask
I used to buy this mask in single packs so when I saw on https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/ that it's being sold in packs of 20's, I was like, "Bish, sign me up!" Before switching to this, I was using the LuLuLun Brightening and Whitening Mask, which has 32 sheets per box.
I tried to search for the ingredients used in this product, which thankfully I found on Rhoto's website, but there's only a few that really stood out:
- Vitamin C and E derivatives
- Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate or more commonly known as a Licorice derivative
- Glycerin and Butylene Glycol, which are humectants (moisturizers)
Now a face mask is what I would consider as a "good-to-have" than a "must-have" addition to one's skincare routine. I use it after cleansing, toning and applying essence/serum just to boost the efficacy of the products I'm already using. This being said, it's alright not to incorporate it into your routine, but it's still nice to have if you've got the budget for it and if you're not too lazy to use it LOL.
What I hate the most about it is that it has Ethanol, which is just a fancier term for Alcohol. I knew that even before purchasing this but I still went for it coz I'm just a sucker for anything Japanese. But really, it's just because I trust the science behind Japanese skincare products.
Aside from that, it also has grapefruit and lemon extracts, which are both very controversial skincare ingredients and were labeled by Paula's Choice website as "poor" and "possible skin sensitizers".
