PHA Peeling Toner
A quick breakdown if you haven't heard of PHA'S yet! 👇
☆Similar to AHA's but more gentle! They're water soluble ingredients that can exfoliate the top layer of the skin. But in a slower less irritating fashion!
☆PHA's also function as humectants and can aid in the proper functioning of the skin barrier!
☆They have antioxidant and anti-glycation benefits and work well along side other actives, as in, help them work better!
There's different kinds of pha's, in here we find Lactobionic Acid at a low 3% concentration, so you can expect this to be fairly gentle! There's no stinging or burning with this one, it goes on feeling like a normal toner although not a very hydrating one!
This offers other lovely ingredients as well that can be soothing and hydrating, barrier strengthening and even provide antioxidant benefit!
Coming to the claims, it's fairly straightforward;
☆To promote gentle exfoliation whilst also adding hydration to the skin!
☆Aimed at dull and dry skin types!
This works as a mild exfoliant but doesn't make a big enough difference for me to be super excited about it! It's not going to be for everyone, but I can recommend it to people who have very dry/sensitive skin and can't tolerate much exfoliating. Or if you're a beginner and want to start off with the mildest option! This will provide a barely there approach to chemical exfoliation and won't cause redness and inflammation.
On the other hand, if you're looking for textural changes, really want to smooth out the look of your skin, or want to brighten up your complexion. This is not it!
