Vitamin C 6% & Alpha Arbutin 1.5% Serum
This is an oil based serum
🍋Main ingredients
💥Propylene glycol
It is a humectant when used in a low concentration. Which means it allows the product to sink in and absorbs the water to maintain hydration.
💥Ascorbic acid 6%
It is an active form of vitamin c. It helps to even out skin tone, helps reduce brown spots,
lightens the hyperpigmentation and gives a beautiful glow. Although it is considered to use high percentage of vitamin c to get effective results yet this product have more ingredients supporting the same problem that is hyperpigmentation. And a superb antioxidant to fight with free radicals caused by uv rays.
💥Niancinamide 2%
It is known for brightening purpose and also for minimising pore appearance. 2% is enough for brightening as higher percentages tend to cause irritation in most of the people.
💥Alpha arbutin 1.5%
This ingredient is a derivative of hydroquinone and worked as a skin lightener and also as an antioxidant. Its best part is that it does not make skin sensitive to sun light. While vitamin c does.
💥Citrus peel oil
This serum contains citrus oil which is a powerful anti bacterial and anti microbial oil. Good for acne prone skin. And a good antioxidant however this may cause skin irritation and make skin prone to redness when exposed to sunlight.
💥Limonene
It is also an anti oxidant but not good for sensitive skin. As it can cause sensitivity and irritation to the skin.
Citral
It has very low anti bacterial and anti inflammatory property.
💦So heads up for sensitive skin people. Their skin may experience irritation with above mentioned ingredients.
🍋Appearance
This comes in a 30 ml transparent but thick glass bottle. It has a oily texture and some unpleasent smell. Though it doesn’t contain any fragrance in its ingredients.
🍋My experience
I have oily combo skin specially in summers. I didnt know that it was oil based serum so made a mistake of buying it. Actually I was attracted to the ingredients mentioned on its box cover . After using for a week under my sunscreen, i do notice a glow on my skin. Sometimes it causes irritation or may be a little tingling effect but within couple of minutes , it settles.
May be i will end up using this on my hands because I am not a fan of oil based serums.
While looking on the brighter side, and considering the ingredients,it is a complete package for brightening the skin and lightening hyperpigmentation.
Still not recommended to sensitive skin.
It is oil based serum and can cause irritation or may be dryness.
