Crème Lavante Soap Free Cleansing Cream
I love this cleanser, as a little preview I can tell you that I have already bought the 1L version!
This is the Uriage Cleansing Cream (Creme Lavante), which can be used for face, body, and hair, and claims to be very gentle yet effective as a face cleanser, shower wash or shampoo. It's suggested for adults, kids and babies too! It is also tested safe for the eyes!
This product can therefore be used by anyone, because if you have a more resilient skin you can apply it on your face and everywhere else too, otherwise just use it under the shower as a very delicate shower gel! For example, you can use it on your face both in the morning and evening without problems (unless you have super dry skin and don't cleanse it in the morning at all). However, I doubt anyone can find it too aggressive!
It has the perfect consistency, it's white, milky but not too runny, it's concentrated and a tiny amount (like, the SMALLEST pea size drop) can create a big soft foam for the whole face (this is true for all the Uriage cleansers I've tried so far)! It rinses easily and leaves the skin soft but well cleansed (it's my favourite second cleanser after an oil cleanser!)
The scent is very fresh, gentle, slightly floral but delicate and it immediately gives you a "clean" sensation.
A great thing about this and other Uriage products is that you can find them in many sizes. For this one in particular, there's the 50ml sample size in a tube, small but that lasts a long time and it's great as a face cleanser (even under the shower if you use another shower gel and shampoo), and for traveling too, which is awesome considering it can be used everywhere by everyone. There's also the 200 ml version, always in a tube, while the 500ml and 1L are in a pump bottle, even more comfortable especially as a body cleanser and shampoo for bath and/or shower or for the whole family. They also made a solid "soap without soap" version which is even more eco friendly and easy to carry around when travelling!
Although this is drugstore and slightly more expensive than your usual supermarket cleanser, I find it very convenient, especially if you buy the bigger bottles. You can try the small size first for a very cheap price, check if it works for you (the 50ml lasts a long time so you have plenty of chances to make sure!), and then save up with the biggest bottle. Consider that the Pao is 9 months and that it can be used for face, body, hair, for the whole family, and you really need a tiny amount because it makes a lot of foam, so it lasts more than those cleansers that don't really do their job! I find it very easily in Europe, in drugstores, and online shops, but I know Uriage is also sold in other countries around the world. It's worth a try if you find it!
Personally, I used it every day, both am and pm. In the morning I just needed the tiniest amount because I have combination skin and just need a quick rinse, while in the evening I used a bit more as a second cleanser. I finished the 50 ml version and I already have the 1L version at home, which I want to use for body and hair too. The small size lasted a long time and I can't wait to try the biggest bottle for body and hair too!
For the face, I wet my face and hands, apply a tiny amount on hands, massage it with hands first, make it foam and then apply it on face. I wouldn't suggest applying it immediately on face because it's a bit thick and you could end up applying too much. It also works great for the body with a sponge or even with your hands if you massage it well, remember that a little goes a long way if you make it foam first!
It works well as a shampoo too but I have extremely oily hair, so I prefer specific shampoos, however I like to use it sometimes as a more gentle shampoo.
I was suggested this product because I have sensitive skin, it was slightly damaged after years of aggressive organic products (not the best choice for my skin type!) and this is the reason why I wanted to try a drugstore cleanser. I was super happy with this one because it washed my combination skin, my spf and oil cleanser, contrary to other gentle cleansers that don't wash your face very well. This one takes everything off without damaging your skin barrier. It doesn't leave an oily feeling afterwards, but it doesn't feel stripping either. If it does, try using less products and see how it cleans you without any issue.
What I liked most is the perfect equilibrium between being a great cleanser but also gentle, the chance to get it in a cheap small version first, and buy a bigger, convenient version afterwards, and it's great in the shower too: my body is dry because of keratosis pilaris, and my hair is oily, so I need to wash it often without damaging it!
I also love Uriage for selling products in different sizes and for allowing you to test for a long time before committing to a bigger bottle! Super smart choice and they do it for many other products, such as cleansers, micellar water, body creams...
Keep in mind that Uriage also has even gentler lines, for example for children, for skin with more serious barrier issues, fragrance free products, oilier consistencies and so on. However, this is already delicate and effective, despite having fragrance and being in between a gel and a cream. It's the best cleansing one without turning into aggressive product.
Definitely a holy grail! ✨
Nothing so far, I really liked it.
