Ourecipe Calming Cleanser
Key Ingredients:
- infused with pear, melon, cica and papaya extracts to soothe and moisturize skin
- patented BSASM™ (unique 7-ingredient combo composed of centella, tea, chamomile, licorice, rosemary, skullcap, & Japanese knotweed) for anti-inflammatory and atopic dermatitis-mitigating effects (related study for additional reference: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15588673/)
Although this is a fragrance-free cleanser, it still has the typical cleansing oil scent. Its texture is a transparent, heavily viscous consistency.
I have done two methods with cleanser:
1. Dispense 1 pump directly onto palm and add water to lather: it lathers well without stripping the skin, nor have I experienced any form of irritation. Although I find it quite difficult to rinse it off fully, since it leaves a somewhat residue.
2. Dispense 2 pumps directly onto palm and massage directly onto face: I use this method to test out whether it can fully take off water-resistant sunscreen, and news flash: IT DOES NOT. I still prefer to double-cleanse with the usual cleansing oil/balm and follow up with a water-based cleanser. I haven't tried testing this out with makeup products, but I'll try to share next time if ever I got the chance.
For my final thoughts, this cleanser is a bit "meh" to me, and I don't really enjoy it as I need to take a longer time to actually rinse this off fully. Also the PAO is only 6 months, which is a bummer. Since this is a wash-off, you can't really notice calming and soothing properties from it.
