Blackhead Clearing BHA PHA Toner
Today Iโm sharing my thoughts on the @oxecureofficial Blackhead Clearing BHA PHA Toner. Sound on for a bit of ASMR on the videos ๐ฃ๐
CLAIMS & DESCRIPTION
An alcohol-free formula that combines BHA, PHA and nourishing natural extracts to soothe and prep your skin for the next step. This is meant to clear black- and whiteheads and to gently exfoliate the dead skin cells.
INGREDIENTS HIGHLIGHTS
2 % BHA
4 % PHA (Gluconolactone)
Witch Hazel Extract
Tea Tree Extract
Aloe Vera Leaf Extract
MY THOUGHTS & EXPERIENCE
I was curious to try this as I have had more textured skin after a lot of irritation from being in a cold climate and also was intrigued to see how my skin would respond to a PHA.
This comes in a plastic bottle with a flip top cap and a pump feature which in theory I liked. However I find that when using the pump to soak a cotton pad I get a lot of product on my hand and since it has an oily feel to it, itโs not a sensation that I particularly enjoy.
Iโve been using this 2-3 times a week for about 3 weeks and am about halfway through the bottle. Unfortunately I donโt see any real improvement on the stubborn blackheads on my nose and for the first two weeks this stung my face BAAD ๐ฅeven though itโs meant to be gentle. Whilst it no longer stings I find that my skin feels very dry and tight after using it and I also donโt feel like itโs helped much with smoothing out the areas where I have rough texture from small breakouts.
Iโm now using it only on targeted areas instead of my whole face, but am thinking to switch it to be used on my body. I suspect my skin just doesnโt take well to the combination of the chemical exfoliant and both Witch Hazel and Tea Tree, so others may enjoy this. For me I wonโt be repurchasing.
As mentioned unfortunately this stung my skin and led to red, itchy small spots leaving me to now be dealing with a lot of hyperpigmentation ๐ญ
