Anti-Aging Vitamin C Serum
The Break Down:
šØš¦ Canadian based
šØš¦ Certified organic
šØš¦ Used sodium ascorbyl phosphate which is a more stable form of vitamin C (acorbic acid is stronger but very unstable to formulate with)
šØš¦ Brightens skin, reduces dark spots, contains antioxidants that protects from free radicals
šØš¦ Hyaluronic acid which helps to hold water to the skin, jojoba oil and aloe with are moisturizing and soothing
šØš¦ Witch Hazel water is the third ingredient which can fight acne, reduce oil and inflammation
My Thoughts:
šØš¦ This is a light weight serum that doesn't feel heavy on the skin and dries without a greasy feel
šØš¦ I did appreate a brightness to my skin, but didn't notice my dark spots lightening but this could be due to this vitamin C being more stable but less effective, over time I may see an improvement
šØš¦ Some skin types don't do well with acorbic acid as it can be too strong and it's hard to stabilize which if not done correctly can make the vitamin C ineffective, this is why sodium ascorbyl phosphate was chosen instead. Just to be clear this doesn't make this a bad vitamin C because they choose a more stable form of vitamin C just means it can take longer to appreate a difference
šØš¦ Vitamin C is know to go bad, where because this serum is more stable this isn't really a concern, therefore you aren't throwing your money away. This serum in a dark bottle for this reason
šØš¦ If you've had irritation with vitamin C in the past or want to try your first vitamin C I think this is a great option
ā Beaware this does contain fragrance which I find to be quite noticeable so if you had irritation from vitamin C in the past and you are also sensitive to fragrance I don't think this would be good
ā It's the serums advertising that makes this a one star for me. It pretty misleading in my opinion that you'll see any anti aging benefits, I think this is a bit of a stretch, you might see some improvement but nothing like from a retinol
