Skin Essentials Barrier Repair Face Oil
I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review as a YesStyle influencer. I was excited to try this face oil from Rovectin, as I have had great results with other products in this line, like their Activating Treatment Lotion and the Conditioning cleanser.
Details:
▪️Rich complex of nourishing and stimulating botanical extracts revitalize your skin to optimum conditions with beneficial nutrients
▪️This oil builds a skin-strengthening moisture barrier to keep skin feeling well hydrated and plumper
▪️1oz/30ml clear glass bottle with pipette dropper
▪️Pale yellow color oil, with very light texture, has light herbal scent
Key Ingredients:
▪️Sunflower Seed Oil
▪️Camelia Seed Oil
▪️Squalane
▪️Olive Fruit Oil
▪️Bisobolol
▪️Atlas Cedar Oil
▪️Tocopherol
▪️Neroli oil
▪️Sea Buckthorn Oil
My experience: I have been using this facial oil for about 2 weeks now. It is a very lightweight almost watery face oil that spreads easily.
You only need to use a small amount for the entire face, so a little goes a long way! It sinks into the skin with a dry-oil finish – no greasiness or sticky feel.
I found it works best for me when I mix a few drops into my moisturizer (I used the Rovectin Lotus Water Cream) vs. applying directly to my face. I’ve been using it 2x per day, adding 2-3 drops to the cream in my hand, mix and then apply & massage into my skin.
It really keeps my skin soft and supple, making it look glowing and nourished.
There is an herbal scent, but it isn’t overwhelming and does dissipate once fully absorbed. I find the scent very calming.
Although there are several essential oils included in the ingredients, it did not irritate my skin.
It is a lighter oil than I have used in the past, and although I have used heavier oils in the winter months, I still think it would also work well in the winter when my skin is drier.
In addition to mixing the oil like I did, you can also apply directly to the face or mix with your foundation.
I’ll continue to use as it has some good antioxidant ingredients. I was a little surprised to see EOs included, so I don’t know if it would be good for sensitive skin types, but it is a great product for those with normal to dry skin. It could also work for oilier skins since it us so lightweight.
Pros:
▪️Lightweight, absorbs quickly
▪️Hydrates and moisturizes without clogging pores
▪️Layers well with other products
Cons: Contains several essential oils
