The texture is, as it says on the package and the tube, somewhere between the gel and the cream. When I put it on the skin, it is a real thick cream and when worked into the skin, melts in a lighter texture. It absorbs like a gel and hydrates like a cream. It's not matte but gives a healthy glow and appearance of the skin.
