product review positives
[UV Filters] •zinc oxide - physical •titanium dioxide - physical •ethylhexyl methoxycinnimate - chemical [Description] as per Laneige International site •Transfer-free •Strong fixing formula •Sweat and sebum resistant •Thin but perfect coverage •24 hour longevity [Shades] 13N • 17N • 21C • 21N • 23C • 23N • 25N • 31N • 33N • 35N From what I can tell, Laneige has always had a very light range of shades in their base makeup products. And this does offer deeper shades, but they're lighter than typical shades. In my pictures, I am wearing 25N Tan. But that is NOT what I know 25 to be. I would call this a 23 at the deepest. And it's definitely more on the neutral/pink side. I think I would actually need their shade 31N. [Scent] Floral powdery perfume grandma. That's the scent. I hate it. I guess it fades soon enough, but ugh. It's pretty awful to my sense of smell. [Texture] Because this is a semi-matte "fixing" cushion, it's on the dry side. It isn't a glowy ampoule formula that always stays a bit juicy and tacky, this does dry down. In application, it feels and sounds sticky and is a bit on the thicker side for cushion formula in my opinion. It doesn't spread that easily and does take some time applying. [Coverage] I would call this a light to medium coverage. There's definitely a point where it will not build anymore. You'll be able to see in my pictures that while it does cover redness, it doesn't completely cover pigmented PIH scars. [Price] The average seems to be around $25-27 USD for this cushion, which is pretty typical. When it was first released, the price seemed to be around $30, which I do think is getting into the costly range. [Component] I loooove the case!!! Its rounded edges are so cute, the square case is fresh and very candy-like, the little button you press to open the case is really fun, and the cushion refill is an easy twist in and out. No pushing refills so forcefully out of the case that I nearly cut myself on the outer case packaging. Even the various colors are suuiper chic and stylish.
product review negatives
•Fragrance - I do just fine with fragrance in formulas, I don't deal with irritation. But this was not a fragrance that was pleasant to me. It worsened my experience. •Coverage - I personally wish it had slightly greater coverage. •Consistency - the tacky application is hard to move and blend, so it feels like you have to use more. •Shade range - very different from what I'm used to, and 25-35 are very hard to find online. I imagine it would be nice to test the shades in store, because this is definitely a tricky color match to make. Overall, I don't suspect I'll be repurchasing this cushion. ✨UPDATE 7/19/2022: I've discovered I do not like the puff applicator. I tried just lightly pressing into the cushion with my finger and applying it that way and really like it so much more. Seemed to retain more of its moisture that would get absorbed by the puff. So, NOW would I repurchase? Possibly, if the price on a refill was good enough.
