Fermentation Galactomyces 99 Skin Toner
π Benton Fermentation Galactomyces 99 Skin Toner
π Price Point: ~USD$25 for 150ml
π Key Ingredients: Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate
π Texture:
This is a super watery lightweight toner that dribble dribbles β it has a really thin viscosity and absorbs super quickly into the skin. And this leads to my main issue with this product β it was not sufficiently hydrating even for my oily skin type.
π Thoughts:
This is fragrance and essential oil free which I really enjoy: however, the way it really has no scent just reinforces this perception in my head that Iβm just dabbing water onto my face lol. If I did a blind test with this product on one side of my face and water on the other, I probably wouldnt be able to tell the difference.. Lol that was harsh but it might be true..
Also, the 99% as well as the -78.5 degrees just felt like arbitrary numbers they were trying to push out in a desperate marketing attempt to β¦ convince us that their method is better than other products with GFF, but I think it is necessary to present consumers with science-backed evidence that these numbers are valid and make sense.
π Verdict: 3/5
Overall, I had really high hopes for this product initially because of the hype around ferments and galactomyces the ingredient in general. However, this product did not deliver unfortunately. As much as I tried to convince myself lmao, I did not see any beneficial effects on my skin despite using it rather consistently for a month. It also lacked in the hydrating department as compared to other toners.
I still gave it a 3 out of 5 (and not a 0) because of its relatively affordable price for this super hyped up ingredient, and its super gentle formulation that certainly works for sensitive skin.
Again, everyoneβs skin is different, so what didnβt work for me may well work for you! I would still recommend this product if you are interested in trying out galactomyces for the first time, rather than spending 200 bucks on SK-II.
