Essence Toner
This toner is superb for those suffering from rosacea, experience redness or irritation. Its main ingredient, Astragalus Membranaceus root extract is a rich source of antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging effects. This is very important for rosacea prone skin as the cummulative inflammation leads to faster skin ageing. The toner does not contain water but over 91% Astragalus Membranaceus root extract (Milk Vetch).
My skin type and concerns: Mature, dry, dehydrated, rosacea and Malassezia ("fungal acne") prone skin. Prone to redness, irritation and closed comedones.
This toner is a staple in my skincare collection and had earned its righteous title of being a reliable product for which I consistently reach out to, regardless if my skin is irritated or in a good state. I love how gentle and effective this is. The product is very hydrating and has a slippery, quite viscous consistency. I apply multiple layers using my hands and it doesn't slip from my palms as more traditional watery toners do, so there is no product waste. I apply multiple layers and I don't feel bad as this product is inexpensive.
I think everyone will enjoy this toner regardless of their skin type or season.
This product is effective, it is inexpensive and cruelty free. On the Stylevana website it retails for around £10. And it just gets cheaper if you add a discount code to your cart. Which in my opinion is a steal.
Edit: I don't know whether not this is just my wild imagination but I am a bit wary of combining this toner with other products which contain niacinamide, dimethicone or starches in products. I am still testing out for pilling and gumming. Try to mix and match your products and see for yourself as I say this is not a good reason to skip on this toner! (it's very nice!).
I have to be careful when applying this toner as if I accidentally get it into my eyes, my eyeballs will start burning and get irritated.
