[Price]
I received this free of charge from Picky and Holika Holika in exchange for a review. A quick search shows the price of this cushion goes for $21.66 USD on YesStyle, $42.50 USD on coscorea, and $19-30 on ebay from various Korean sellers.
[Packaging]
I really love this cushion compact. It's matte, so no fingerprints. And as much as I don't respect the brand SKKN by Kim K. (yuck), this compact design reminds me of that packaging aesthetic. Like stone. Very clean and chic, doesn't leave any fingerprints. I love it.
[Shade Range]
There are 3 shades:
01 Pure Vanilla
02 Petal Ivory
03 Honey Beige
A note to Korean brands wanting to break into the American market: foundation needs to go deeper in shade range than this lol
I am 100% South Korean genetically. I was born in Busan. 03 isn't even dark enough for me! A Korean! Lol
Having said my peace on that, I'm usually a 25 in Korean foundation, so this shade 03 is one 1/2 to 1 full shade too light for me right after Summer. It might blend in with my neck a bit better in a month or two, but at the moment, you can see it's a bit too light in the video demo, and more obvious in person, so I usually correct the outer of my face with bronzer or contour.
[Texture]
This formula is very thin. Some formulations are thicker and feel a bit "sticky" or tacky when pressing it into skin, but this doesn't have that quality. It goes on easily, doesn't dry too quickly, and feels like nothing once applied.
✨The puff is the softest air puff I have ever tried, it's really such a luxurious feeling experience.
[Coverage]
I would call this a light-medium coverage, not fully medium. I have scars that it can't really cover, so this formula is great for covering redness, overall evening skin tone, but blemishes will still require concealer.
I personally choose Korean cushion foundation for this aspect. I like lighter coverage, so this wasn't surprising to me at all.
[Finish]
I would call this a satin finish, but before powdering, it does have a bit of a glowy look. Maybe not what I would call dewy, but with skincare freshly applied before cushion application you do end up with a glow.
[Scent]
I think the scent is light and fresh. Very pleasant and subtle. It is not bothersome or cloying at all.
[Conclusion]
Of course I wish I could have tried this cushion in the appropriate shade for me, but disregarding that, I think this cushion does well. Especially when powdered, this offers good longevity and stays looking neat.
I will most likely use this as a highlighting product for under eyes, nose, and around my mouth.
Would I repurchase? If they come out with a good 05 shade, I would absolutely be willing to try this formula in that shade. Not for $30, but I'd try it for around $20.
❌Essential oils: lavender, bergamot, orange peel
I am not sensitive to these ingredients, but I know they can be problematic and irritating for others.
❌Silicones
This formula is packed with lots of different silicones, which usually causes breakouts in my skin because silicones are occlusive and cover pores. I have had a few closed comedones where I normally do not, so I do think this cushion is what's contributing to that, but it's not causing full-blown inflamed acne. The formula is just a bit occlusive for my skin.
