[Price]
This retails for $32.99 USD on the Coreelle site, but is often on sale for a few dollars less.
Background:
I received this in a "lucky box" Coreelle was selling a couple of months ago. It was very affordable, but I also got $10 off thanks to a fellow Picky's referral code. It came to a little more than $19 USD. Such a good deal.
But we found out that we had all received the same exact products, not what they had said, and they'd stuffed in some expired products as well as some soon-to-be expire products, which led us to realize that it was a box of products they just didn't sell. I got a refund.
[Packaging]
I think this glass matte bottle and dropper are fun and appropriate for a product that shouldn't be exposed to UV, but the consistency of the serum is quite viscous and on the thicker side, so it's not the easiest to pick up product into the dropper. I think a component with an airless pump would have been better.
[Finish]
It absorbs very quickly. I smooth and massage 2.5ish drops all over my face and under my jaw and feel no sticky residue, no wet gel that sits on the surface of my skin. It sinks in very well.
[Conclusion]
While I did not like my first experience with Coreelle, ✨I do like this retinol. It has made my skin dry, but not irritated and not flaky. I use it every evening and am about 3 weeks into it.
It's really been helping heal all of my fresh, crazy cystic acne scarring that I've been dealing with for the last couple of months from a horrible flare-up of hormonal acne. And I believe it's also helping to prevent more large acne from forming.
I, of course, do not see any changes in my forehead wrinkle lines, nor the couple of crow's feet at my eyes, but deep lines take months and months of retinoid use, and it depends on the strength of retinol and what type of retinoid you're using. But I've been very happy with this as a starter retinol.
I would like to try the Naturium 0.05% Retinal Cream, but if that wasn't on the docket I'd strongly consider purchasing another bottle of The Potions Retinol.
Honestly, I have very little negative anything to mention about this. I will say that this is not a retinoid formula that comes packed with emollients to help skin during retinization, which would help prevent any potential irritation.
But this is a gentle yet effective percentage of retinol that can easily be bolstered by your favorite moisturizer.
