Now for the deets:
This gel cleanser is a transparent white-colored with a consistency that feels thick and isn’t runny. Not much is needed, approximately a quarter-size for my face and neck. Once water is added, it easily transforms into a soft foam texture.
I used this as my 2nd cleanse for my evening routine. It was able to remove my first oil-based cleanser without leaving my skin feeling stripped or tight. I did not notice any drying or irritation of my skin while using this for the past 2+weeks. The 4-hydroxy acid exfoliation seemed to work well for me with the removal of dead skin cells and sebum control. All this without any irritation too! Which is where the heartleaf and centella asiatica come into play with soothing and hydrating the skin. There is a new smoothness to my skin that was not apparent before and I’m seriously enjoying it.
I think it is a great product for those who are acne-prone, like myself. This cleanser helped to sooth current breakouts but also helped my skin to recover quicker. I can see this being used as maintenance as it helps prevent further and future breakouts aside from dietary/hormonal triggers.
There is a natural fragrance due to the addition of tea tree and rosemary oil in the formula. I detected a strong tea tree oil scent but did not really notice rosemary myself. Oils and smells do not usually bother me personally but I would caution those who are sensitive to oils/fragrance to avoid.
