Golden Cleanser
This is a Manuka Honey face cleanser that helps remove makeup and impurities, soothes the skin, and leaves it feeling soft and refreshed. It has Manuka honey, which is used to moisturize and soften skin, alongside turmeric and chamomile extracts. It has a light-weight gel consistency, with a strong sweet honey scent.
Let me just say, this smells amazing! I am not the type that likes sweet scents in skincare and cosmetics, but this is an exception (if they made a candle that smelled like this face wash, I’d buy it). This cleanses my face effectively. I haven’t used it as a makeup remover, as I personally think this is more suited to be a second cleanse. The cleanser leaves my skin looking and feeling soft, and I’ve noticed it has helped reduce some inflammation I have.
The downside is the price. $35CAD for a face cleanser is expensive (I got a sample size with the Sephora Beauty Insider points). This isn’t a face wash with anything extraordinary in it, honey is used in many skincare products. I don’t think I would go and purchase the full size. I also was not a fan of how little this product lathered. I felt like to properly cleanse my skin I needed to use too much cleanser. With the high price tag, going through a bottle of this cleanser would be rather quick. Also, the whole “soothing the mind and encouraging stillness” claim rubs me the wrong way. I feel like it’s sort of gimmicky. I want skincare that works for my skin, I don’t need to use it for aromatherapy purposes. I would suggest keeping aromatherapy and skincare separate.
