[Price]
I received this from Real Barrier in a giveaway on IG consisting of four Porebium products. I think this will be available for purchase very soon.
[Packaging]
It comes in a squared off plastic bottle with rounded edges. Really cute! There's a slight green hue that I'm not sure comes from the product or from the packaging, but it's really beautiful.
It has a flip top dispenser with a hole that would be perfect for cottons, but I don't personally like the waste and enjoy the benefits of excess product on my hands.
At 305ml, it's the most generously sized toner I have ever had.
[Consistency]
Very watery and thin. No viscosity whatsoever.
[Finish]
Sinks in and dries down, but does leave a kind of tight shine all over if you end your routine with it. This might be due to the witch hazel (astringent), but I'm not sure.
[Conclusion]
In my personal experience, the first time I ever tried this was after my morning skincare routine. It had been several hours and I was starting to feel oily. So, I applied a layer of this toner and it really did take care of that oily, greasy feeling! I don't know how. Perhaps that's the salicylic and witch hazel that acted as a bit of an astringent? Either way, it was so nice and so surprising. Normally that greasiness means I have to do a midday cleanse, but not anymore!
I really enjoy this toner as an oily, acne-prone skin type. I've actually been using it in my hydro dermabrasion device after double cleansing and loooove it. It's the most perfect solution to flush out pores and reinvigorate skin with gentle acids. It is also very skin softening.
It's just purely an exfoliation product that I would most confidently recommend to combo/oily skin types, but am hopeful would also work for sensitive skin types who would like occasional chemical exfoliation, or for sensitive skin that has acne to contend with.
I of course will caution sensitive skin, as there are several acids including salicylic and citric acid, but during Real Barrier's Live about these products, they said this would do just fine with daily use and for sensitive skin!
So, maybe patch test first to see if there's any sensitizing or any stinging, but it may very well be a sensitive-skin-friendly chemical exfoliant if you're having a hard time finding chemical exfoliation that works for you.
I will say this toner does not feel like a hydrating or moisturizing one, in my opinion, so that might take dry skin types aback, but it doesn't contain anything that is strongly stripping.
