• Rice seed water - Brightening
• Oatmeal extract, coix lacryma-jobi ma-yuen seed extract, rice extract - Soothing
• Glycerin - Moisturizing
How I use it:
As a first cleanse step, I apply 1/2 teaspoon of cleansing balm into the palm of my hand, make it melt into an oil by rubbing it in between the palms of my hands, and rub it all over my face, making sure to solubilize my makeup and sunscreen if wearing any. Next I emulsify it by wetting my hands in water and rubbing it on my face. Finally, I rinse it all off with water. I follow with a second cleanse step using a regular face wash.
Verdict:
• What I liked about this product:
This cleansing balm comes in a large amount in a very pretty and convenient jar packaging that includes a small plastic spatula that you can take while traveling. The product is a beautiful natural white ivory color, has no noticeable scent and a sorbet-like texture. The balm turns into a medium weight oil upon contact with the palm of my hand and glides effortlessly on the skin upon application. It does not feel oily or heavy, emulsifies into a milky consistency upon contact with water, and is easy to rinse off without blurring or irritating the eyes. It removes makeup and sunscreen effectively and leaves the skin clean and smooth without being drying. I also love the rice and ferment derived ingredients and the fact that it's affordable. The hype is real.
• What I didn't like about this product:
- It takes some trials and errors to determine what amount is enough to clean your face. Sometimes it's too much, sometimes not enough. You probably won't have this issue if you are used to using cleansing balms.
