The metal tube is cool, although heavy. The formula is SO SMOOTH, and I felt like it coated my individual lashes well. The brush is unique and worked well. The top reason for this rating is that it did not irritate my eyes! Even with all the smudging. There was no flaking. Important for contact lense wearers and those with highly sensitive eyes, like myself. Would consider purchasing this in the future.
Definitely NOT smudge-proof! I wish I had a photo of the smudging, but I was out and about and touched up each time as soon as I noticed it. I had to make multiple touchups each time I wore this- whether I was outdoors in the heat or inside in the AC. Incredibly inconvenient. I did not use a lash primer, so I am unsure if that would help with the smudging or not. Milk also has a waterproof version of this mascara, so that may be a good option, also. No lengthening aspect, which I prefer to have because of my hooded lids. Without lengthening, it can be a bit hard to see on me.
