As it contains exfoliating ingredients, I've tried to avoid it on my eyes but when I wasn't so careful, it was gentle and I experienced no irritation. I do feel like it lightly exfoliates the skin and haven't had any issues in the past few months I've been using it. To use, you apply a layer of this cleanser on to dry skin. The thinner the layer, the faster it was to see the bubbles. The bubbles give off a light gentle tingle sensation on the skin. You use wet hands to massage the bubbles into your skin and produces lovely foam. Then wash away with water.
