Acne Complex Clarifying Mask
This blemish treating mask contains kaolin clay, vitamin c derivatives, sulfur, and salicylic acid to quickly heal breakouts with minimal scarring.
I have to admit I was a bit scared to try this product, especially since I found the clarifying cleanser very harsh and irritating, but when I started to have a hormonal cystic acne breakout I figured it was time to see how it would help what we know is one of the hardest forms of acne to treat. I decided to follow the directions which stated it shouldn't be used more than 3 days in a row and should only be used where blemishes have occurred, and used it as a spot treatment for 2 days at a time with a day in between for recovery. I also paired it with calming moisturizers to minimize irritation and aid healing.
This really worked for me! Of course it didn't make anything disappear overnight or anything like that, nothing can actually do that for such serious acne, but it definitely calmed my acne, brought painful blind pimples to the surface, and helped the cystic acne recede within a couple weeks rather than a month or longer. Whiteheads and surface acne was gone within 2 days, and I didn't experience any irritation despite my sensitive skin. It was also very easy to wash off, which I find isn't always the case with clay masks.
Cost: $54 CAD per 2.65oz
It does smell like sulfur, but it's not very strong and I much prefer that to having irritating fragrances. It is also rather pricey.
