Cookie Dough Lip Scrub
The Lush Cookie Dough Lip Scrub is an exfoliating lip scrub to buff away all your lip's dead skin cells for smoother lips.
💄Notable Ingredients*:
• Castor Sugar
• Jojoba Oil
• Shea Butter
• Vanilla Extract
• Titanium Dioxide
• Sea Salt
*Ingredient list taken from lushusa.com
📦 Packaging:
The product comes in a small glass jar with a hard plastic lid and a simple black sticker with the name of the Lip Scrub. At the bottom of the jar you can actually see the name of the person who made the cookie product. I bought this for 15CHF at my local Lush store and occasionally busted this out over 4 weeks if I felt my lips needed a little polish.
🫙Texture and Scent:
The scent is sugary and sweet, not too overwhelming, and the texture of the scrub feels like granulated sugar. It buffers the lip, but doesn't feel too rough or harsh on the skin. Aside from the gritty feeling of the sugars and salts, I can feel the residue left behind by the oils in the scrub after using, which feels pleasant and nice without being overwhelming. You can also eat this and pretty much taste the flavour of unbaked cookie dough.
✅️ Pros:
• I personally like the experience, and the scent, while sugary, isn't too overwhelming for my nose.
• It's effective at buffering my rather dry lips without irritating them.
• It. Tastes. Delicious. I love the flavour. Sometimes I find myself just dabbing extra of this onto my lips so I can purposefully eat more of the leftover sugar on my lips!
• Cruelty-Free, and knowing the face behind the product's manufacture does give it a small personal touch I thought was sweet.
❌️ Cons:
• Jar packaging. As a certified jar hater, it's eugh, but this is more of a pet peeve really, since I don't think there's any other way to package sugar scrubs.
• The price? I don't know, this is my first lip scrub, but 15CHF for a tiny tub feels pretty disingenuous.
Verdict: A fun little product for the occasional pick-me-up on your lips. I'm not too keen on Lush as a company (I personally find some of the products and marketing off-putting) and the price, so I won't be repurchasing, but I'm going to savour the cookie dough flavour while I can!
