product review positives
Oh I hate to be a hater but well, this one was just - NOT. IT. Do keep in mind that my palette is in the variation *06 Street Pastel. Now let me start with what I liked about this palette. I loved the shiny and glittery shades, beautiful fine glitters that stay on your lid through thick and thin. The glitters reflect light, super shiny, non patchy and doesn’t look cheap at all. I loved all 3 of the shiny glitters at the top row, and the second last one at the bottom row. They look amazing for any makeup look. The pink one specifically looks amazing if you use it as a highlighter, for the inner corner of your eyes or even the top of your nose and nose bridge, cheekbones, they’re amazing! They look identical to my Clio Prism Air Highlighter in *Fairy Pink which I truly adore. I also love the transparent cover at the top that allows me to look into the palette without having to open it, very cute!
product review negatives
Now here’s what I dont like about it. This palette costs like, RM120. For me to pay that price for a rather small palette, I expect it to be absolutely mind blowing and for it to reach some kind of “high standard”. It wasn’t just not that great, but I felt like this was extremely subpar. The palette is small which is great for travelling. But honestly if I paid RM120 for it, I don’t care that its “good for travelling”. I want something bigger, maybe like the colourpop palettes with a bigger pan for the eyeshadow. This was pretty small, and the pigment was okay. It wasn’t that pigmented. I’ve gotten a lot of cheap RM10 palettes by random Chinese companies which were super pigmented and had a great shade range, AND awesome packaging. The shades were “meh”. The 2 lightest matte shades to the left looked like completely nothing. I wish Clio used those 2 pans for other shades or maybe 2 more glitter shadows. Those 2 as you can tell, weren’t very pigmented. I’d have to swipe my finger onto the shadow a few times for it to pick up a bit of pigment. This comes with a brush and it made me really happy at first. I have low expectations from brushes. I never minded brushes and use whatever cheap brush i find, but this brush? Terrible. It doesn’t pick up pigment, it doesn’t blend my shadow like how I want it to. Both sides of this brush are pretty small so it looks like nothing has changed. I use the thin flat side of this brush for my brows instead and it works well! Now the worst part of it all, is that one of the shades TURNED MOLDY! Never in my life, have I seen an eyeshadow palette turn moldy. Honestly if I had it for like 10 years and it smarted to grow mould, then fine. But this started to mould around a year after I opened it! Got me really upset. I hope maybe it was just this palette. Maybe if I had gotten one with more darker shades, I would have enjoyed it more. But still, I dont think the high price tag can be justified. *Everything I said was based off my own experience. Everyone has different likings so please excuse anything I said that potentially offended you!
